You may not have noticed at the time but a cold front passed through the city late yesterday afternoon. Sunny morning skies will gradually give way to afternoon clouds. Today's high will only reach the low 50s. It will be a chilly night for baseball. Look for temperatures in the mid 40s during the game.

Those arriving clouds are part of a thriller of a little low pressure system that is expected to cross the region late tonight. The innocent low from the Midwest will be pretty weak as it passes south of the city late tonight, possibly kicking off a rain shower. Once the storm moves out to sea the warm Gulf Stream and an upper-level disturbance above will cause the storm to grow. At the same time the storm will continue its eastward movement. It looks like the storm will grow fast enough to bring us a cloudy, showery and cool Thursday.

Fear not, the rain will be gone by Friday. In fact, for the first time in several weeks, we appear to be on track for a sunny and pleasant weekend. Expect a gradual warming trend from the low 50s on Friday to the low 60s on Sunday.
