A construction worker was taken to the hospital after falling and impaling himself on a piece of metal at 4 World Trade Center. According to the FDNY, the victim is a 37-year-old male and his condition is currently listed as "not likely" to expire.

An initial report says the the man fell about six feet and impaling his stomach on a piece of rebar. We'll update with more details once we get them. The site is where beams crashed down 40 stories earlier this year.

The 977-foot building was topped off yesterday, with the final piece of steel beam raised to the top of the frame. Designed by Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki's firm, the building has been praised as being "eloquent" and was intended by Maki and his architects to be a respectful and quiet backdrop to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

World Trade Center developer Larry Silverstein revealed that he had asked 1 World Trade Center architect David Childs what he thought about designing the whole complex, but Childs told him, "As a friend, I’d tell you that was a mistake," which Silverstein explained, "I got what David was saying. When you have one architect, you have the same language in all the buildings."
