After months of meetings, listening sessions, screaming sessions and plan reconfigurations, the DOT has announced the locations of 39 new Citi Bike racks on both the Upper West and Upper East sides.

The agency says it expects Motivate, which operates Citi Bike, to install stations up to 86th Street by the end of the year, and all of the stations by early 2016.

The DOT settled upon the station locations after more than 50 meetings with local politicians and residents. Drafts of the station maps were released in May, and, after hearing additional community comment, rearranged one last time to create the final product. Less preparation probably goes into a rocket launch, but then, when was the last time a rocket assaulted an elderly man or bit Lindsay Lohan?
