Police are currently investigating what appears at first blush to be an ugly double murder-suicide in Brooklyn this morning. Last night just before midnight police discovered a man, a woman and a school-aged child at 749 Lafayette Avenue in Bed-Stuy. The police were called because of a "foul odor" emanating from a second-floor apartment.
After gaining entry into the building, the police found the bodies of a woman, 51, and a man, 44, and a child believed to be about 10. The three victims were shot once in the head, according to the NYPD. A firearm was also found at the scene. The identities of the bodies are being held pending family notification.
"I don’t remember them having a child," one resident of the building told CBS. According to neighbors, the female victim worked in the rental office of the apartment building.
