Teenagers: they ruin everything, especially when armed. Lots of people around Brooklyn loved the 40-cent Tuesday wing deal at Buffalo Wild Wings sports bar in Fort Greene—even Brooklyn Cyclones players were known to wing it there on Tuesdays. But now the restaurant has discontinued the promotion because of multiple shootings and a stabbing involving adolescents who descended upon the establishment Tuesday night. Thanks a lot, minors!
Earlier this week, Councilwoman Letitia James blasted the place for promoting its 40-cent “Wing Tuesdays” to students, telling the Brooklyn Paper, "We got to do something about Wild Wings. I want this Tuesday restaurant promotion stopped, or the lease of this business revoked." So Buffalo Wild Wings complied—although a spokesman does insist they weren't "enticing kids to come."
But the NYPD maintains that the violence, which left two teens injured with gunshot wounds and another with stab wounds, "was the result of a promotion for all high school kids from several schools throughout the borough to meet at Buffalo Wild Wings." Hopefully nobody tells the teens about the Buffalo Wild Wings 60-cent "Boneless Thursdays," which is continuing as usual.
