When he got the phone, he started to climb back up, but then fell four stories. He had to be rescued by the fire department, who repelled teams down with a stretcher to strap the man in. The man suffered broken bones and bruises and was treated at a hospital.

A man was shot for not giving up his cell phone on the Williamsburg Bridge and a woman was killed when she tried to retrieve her cellphone from the subway tracks.
