Cardi B was one of the star-studded attendees of last night's extravagant Met Gala, but things got ugly after the event when her security team allegedly assaulted a fan who was trying to get her autograph.

According to the NYPD, the incident happened around 2:15 a.m. outside the Mark Hotel on East 77th Street near Madison Avenue. Cardi B and her entourage were leaving an after party at the hotel when the fan, whose name has not been released, approached her for an autograph. In a video (see below) obtained by TMZ, the 33-year-old man can be heard saying, "Oh c'mon, don't be like that mama. I just asked for an autograph. I'm an autograph hound." In a second clip, it skips ahead to show a group of men beating that fan. It's currently unclear what happened between the cuts included in the video.

The victim told cops that he got into a dispute with three security guards, who then assaulted and pushed him to the ground; he told TMZ more specifically that they "shoved him to the ground, and started the beatdown." He was transported to NewYork-Presbyterian and treated for minor injuries to his neck and back. An NYPD spokesman told Gothamist the alleged assailants left the scene before police arrived, and the investigation is ongoing.
