Westfield America, the retail space developer that owns retail space in the WTC is not a fan of Daniel Libeskind's designs according to the Times.

"We have reviewed the most recent version of the Libeskind plan and do not believe it is consistent with the Port Authority's obligations to us or, based on our expertise and experience, the type of retail that we believe is most appropriate for the site and its potential," a letter from Westfield to representatives states. The Times delves a little deeper into the square footage interests of Westfield and the plan.

Westfield America is based in Los Angeles, and Westfield gots its start as an Australian company, now with offices in New Zealand, the U.K., and the U.S. They have many malls in the United States, including the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ.
