Jay-Z and Eminem took the field at Yankee Stadium last week, which helped fill the pockets of local business owners. According to the NY Post, the East 161st Street BID asked local businesses to rate (on a scale of 1 to 10) how well they fared during the concerts—the average response was a 9, "somewhere between the night of a playoff and a World Series game, in terms of how well they did.” (The only establishments not doing well were ones selling Yankee souvenirs, even though Jay-Z has touted the team in his songs.) Business owners are now looking forward to November, to see what kind of action they'll get during the college football games at the stadium.
