A 31-year-old man was pinned by a taxi earlier this morning at Spring and Crosby Streets in Soho. The taxi driver was in tears at the scene and said the sun was too bright.

The driver, Kah-Am Rahaman, told DNAinfo, "There was so much sun I couldn’t see anything. The next thing I know there’s a guy in front of my car. I just brake and he fell. I saw the guy on the ground and called 911." He also spoke to NBC New York, explaining that "he was holding up a paper to shield his eyes as he turned onto Crosby Street."

Rahaman got out of the cab and found the victim with his eyes closed and bleeding. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is expected to recover.
