When the MTA says that the uptown 6 transfer at Broadway-Lafayette/Bleecker Street is coming "soon" maybe they mean "really soon?" Because though the Authority still won't give us a firm date on its opening, the Most Important Subway Transfer of our Time is starting to strip off its plywood. OMG, you guys, ESCALATORS! And honeycomb lights! Sexy!
Seriously, this baby is getting so close. Right now the plywood around the new escalator and the stairs on the uptown B/D/F/M side has been removed, some of the signs advertising a transfer to the 6 to the Bronx have been revealed and some people have been snapping pictures through the construction of some crazy honeycomb lighting at the top of the transfer. Suddenly the station is looking very Times Square, no?
Soon, people, soon. They promise.
