A Brooklyn man has been arrested and charged with fatally stabbing his mother yesterday. Police say that 31-year-old Richard Cohen called 911 around 11 p.m. Saturday saying he had stabbed his mother, 64-year-old Anne Cohen, to death. Police then found the victim with 41 stab wounds to the torso and neck in her son's home on Ocean Avenue in Midwood.
According to the News, Annie Cohen was visiting her son in his first-floor apartment when an argument erupted and he went berserk. They note that the son has a history of mental illness. The victim was taken to Community Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Richard Cohen has been charged with second-degree murder.
