A Brooklyn man was arrested this week after he allegedly broke out a machete during a road rage incident inside the Holland Tunnel.

Police say that Joel Estevez, 29, got into a dispute with a 49-year-old man driving a 2013 Toyota when the two both tried to merge into the same Jersey-bound lane at the entrance of the Holland Tunnel around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. In the midst of the argument about who had the right of way, Estevez allegedly took out a machete, leaned out the window of his car, and started hacking at the other car.

The victim followed Estevez for a bit, then gave his license plate number to cops, who tracked him to his Williamsburg home the next day. Estevez was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal mischief and simple assault.

CBS notes that Estevez was also arrested in June 2014 and charged with forcible touching and acting in a manner injurious to a child in Staten Island. That case is still pending.
