The NYPD has arrested a man they believe assaulted a 54-year-old woman on the L train last month, after she allegedly tried to stop him from hitting his child.
According to authorities, 24-year-old Jasner Jimenez was arrested yesterday and charged with felony assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17. Jimenez, who lives in Brooklyn, allegedly attacked the unidentified victim on July 26th at around 3:30 p.m., while onboard a Manhattan-bound L train heading toward the Lorimer stop. The victim told authorities she observed Jimenez repeatedly hitting his child—a tipster told us in an email that she asked him, "Please don't hit your child," to which he replied, "Shut the fuck up, we will hit our child if we want to."
The victim then tried to move to another car, whereupon he allegedly followed her, slammed her face into a metal pole and threw her to the floor.
The victim, who says two men stopped the man from further attacking her, suffered a bruised arm and head-swelling during the attack.
