A 23-year-old aide at Brooklyn Technical High School allegedly sent lewd texts to a teenaged student, one of which included a video of himself masturbating on school property.
The Post reports that Robert Sutton Jr., 23, allegedly started sexting the unidentified student in January of last year, while working at the Academy for Software Engineering in Manhattan. Sutton transferred to Brooklyn Tech in March, but continued to text the student, according to investigators with the Office of the Special Commissioner of Investigation.
According to the Post, texts included photos of his penis and abs; he also repeatedly asked her to come to his house. Most disturbingly, Sutton is accused of sending a video "which depicted Sutton, Jr., masturbating inside Brooklyn Technical School," according to the SCI report. “The fact that the video was taken in school is what is so troubling,” a parent at Brooklyn Tech told The Post.
The student turned over the video and other texts to SCI investigators in May. Sutton resigned from the Department of Education in August. A spokesperson with the DOE tells us, "This individual is no longer a DOE employee and he is not eligible to work in our schools."
Sutton has not been charged with a crime, and the Office of the Special Commissioner of Investigation has not yet responded to our request for comment.
