A Crown Heights deli clerk was nearly shot Saturday morning while fighting back against a would-be robber wearing a skull mask. Police say the suspect entered the 3 Star Deli at 536 Ralph Avenue at 12:20 a.m., brandished a firearm, and demanded money. The clerk refused, choosing instead to grab for the gun.

A shot was fired, but it hit the wall. Skull-face fled on foot, taking the gun with him but nothing else. The NYPD describes him as male, wearing tan slacks, a black coat, and a black and yellow face mask depicting a skull. Shouldn't be too hard to track him down, as long as he doesn't take off the mask.
