At the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge Park has opened, after two years, transformed from a parking lot into what the city envisions a part of a new Brooklyn waterfront. This acre and a half will be just one part of a park that will ultimately have 70 acres. Mayor Bloomberg Governor Pataki, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, and Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe were present for the ribbon cutting earlier this week.
