A young woman was discovered dead in her Bronx apartment building yesterday, and investigators believe it was a homicide.
Erica Wilson's body was found in her fourth floor home at 871 Brook Avenue. According to WABC 7, "When her family couldn't reach her, her mother" went to check on her. Police say that Wilson was unconscious and unresponsive, with head trauma.
A resident of the building told the Post, "I heard screams in the hallway and came out and saw her mom and realized someone had killed her," adding, "I was going to take her to get her nails done because today was her birthday."
A neighbor told the Daily News, "I heard the screams, blood-curdling screams, which I thought were children running down the stairs. When I came out, I saw her sister running out the door.”
Wilson worked at the Gateway Mall and was also employed as a nanny, friends said. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
