Four men were arrested Tuesday and accused of selling heroin out of a Long Island beer distributor near two schools. Two Bronx men, Jason Cruz, 21, and Jeffrey Marmolejos, 22, were arrested after police purchased several bags of heroin from them at Wantagh Beverage. “The fact that it's next to the schools is what is of particular interest in this case,” said Detective Lt. William Burke of the Suffolk Narcotics Squad.

Burke added that students from nearby Wantagh Middle School and Wantagh High School were customers of the store, but it was unclear if they were buying drugs there. Cruz was charged with multiple counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance in or near school grounds. Marmolejos was charged with one count of criminal possession of a drug substance. Two other men, store owner Michael Schwartzman and Michael Pfister, were also arrested, and charged on lesser counts.

So, it's obviously a pretty bad idea for aspiring drug dealers to peddle heroin near a high school. But on the scale of idiot drug dealers, at least these guys didn't hide the goods in an infant's diaper bag, or in children's coloring book.
