The co-owner of a Bronx bar is at Jacobi Hospital after being shot twice by an apparently angry customer. The victim's brother and co-owner of the bar says that he was shot because he refused to continuing serving alcohol to the shooter: "He was drunk and because of that, we didn't serve him."
Mario Ramirez, 52, got into an argument with the patron at El Rey De Copas, after "he had been cut off by a waitress." The customer, who was described to be in his 40s, then shot Ramirez in the neck and chest.
NBC New York reports, "Ramirez's brother said that the man—a known patron who had been banned from the bar for causing trouble two years ago—ran off down White Plains Road."
It's believed that shooting was caught on surveillance cameras. Police are continuing to investigate.
