Due to not one but two broken rail situations—one just south of 125th street, and another on the southbound express track at 72nd Street—commute-skewering service changes will be in effect "until repairs are completed." Here are the sordid details as of 4:45 p.m.:
- B trains are only running between Brighton Beach and Whitehall St-South Ferry. B trains will run on the R Line between DeKalb Av and Whitehall St-South Ferry in both directions.
- Southbound A trains are running local from 145 St to 59 St-Columbus Circle.
- D trains are running local between Norwood-205 St and 59 St-Columbus Circle in both directions.
The MTA says, "ACBD trains are running with delays in both directions. Customers should allow for extra travel time." Check MTA.info and follow @NYCTSubway on Twitter for updates.
If you found this commute frustrating, tell your state representatives and Governor Cuomo to stop robbing the MTA of badly needed funding and figure out a way to come up with more cash for a 21st Century transit system.
