Big news: A judge has dismissed the lawsuit trying to block the Prospect Park West bike lane. Mayoral spokesman Marc La Vorgna Tweeted, "In a decision issued late today, the City prevails in Prospect Park West Bike Lane lawsuit. Judge dismisses plaintiffs claims. #bikenyc" The Department of Transportation's Twitter followed with, "City prevails in Prospect Park West bike path case! Details and links to come Wednesday morning. #bikenyc"

We'll cover the details tomorrow morning, but keep in mind that while this is a victory for the city and bicyclists and families and community boards, this is also a defeat for bike lane-hating Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz (who insisted the bike lane was just a trial), big shots like former DOT Commissioner Iris Weinshall (and her husband Senator Chuck Schumer) and former Sanitation Commissioner Norman Steisel and everyone else who hates the bike lane.
