Harvey Weinstein is expected to surrender to authorities on Friday to face sexual misconduct charges as part of an investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, according to multiple reports. Two unnamed law enforcement officials told the NY Times Weinstein would turn himself in tomorrow.

TMZ reports that sources connected to Cy Vance's office say the charges are related to victim Lucia Evans, who alleges that Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex on him in 2004. "Arrangements are being made for the surrender, which is expected Friday," the outlet reports.

The Manhattan DA's office did not respond to our inquiry about reports that Weinstein would turn himself in. The NYPD had no immediate comment.

A special grand jury convened weeks ago is also looking at evidence related to potential financial fraud charges committed by Weinstein, according to sources who spoke with the Daily News.

The news comes one day after federal prosecutors announced they were looking into whether or not Weinstein enticed any woman to travel over state lines with the goal of sexually assaulting them—an offense that can be prosecuted as a federal crime. On Thurdsday evening, Danny Frost, a spokesperson for Manhattan D.A. Cy Vance, told Gothamist, "Our investigation is in an advanced stage.”

Last year, Evans told the New Yorker that when she was a college student and aspiring actress in 2004, she went to Weinstein's Tribeca office building for a meeting with a casting executive. She had previously declined Weinstein's attempts for a private meeting, but agreed to this casting meeting because it was with a female employee. But she was shown to an office where there was only Weinstein:

In the meeting, Evans recalled, “he immediately was simultaneously flattering me and demeaning me and making me feel bad about myself.” Weinstein told her that she’d “be great in ‘Project Runway’ ”—the show, which Weinstein helped produce, premièred later that year—but only if she lost weight. He also told her about two scripts, a horror movie and a teen love story, and said one of his associates would discuss them with her.

“At that point, after that, is when he assaulted me,” Evans said. “He forced me to perform oral sex on him.” As she objected, Weinstein took his penis out of his pants and pulled her head down onto it. “I said, over and over, ‘I don’t want to do this, stop, don’t,’ ” she recalled. “I tried to get away, but maybe I didn’t try hard enough. I didn’t want to kick him or fight him.” In the end, she said, “he’s a big guy. He overpowered me.” She added, “I just sort of gave up. That’s the most horrible part of it, and that’s why he’s been able to do this for so long to so many women: people give up, and then they feel like it’s their fault.”

Evans's account in The New Yorker prompted the NYPD to reach out to her.

Weinstein was last spotted by TMZ on Wednesday in Malibu.

This is an ongoing story, and we'll update as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that Weinstein is scheduled to surrender at the Manhattan D.A.'s Office in lower Manhattan between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Friday.
