A Brooklyn woman was found dead in a Flatbush electronics store yesterday afternoon, and her boyfriend is currently being questioned about her death according to multiple reports.

Cops say that they found Deneisha Smith, a 27-year-old resident of East Flatbush, unresponsive when they showed up to Bedford Electronics yesterday afternoon around 12:40 p.m. Police say Smith had neck trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

A police spokesperson said that someone was in custody this morning following Smith's death, and according to both the Post and ABC7, that person is Smith's boyfriend.

The Post reports that a surveillance camera captured footage of Smith and her boyfriend, whose name hasn't been released, fighting for almost ten minutes, culminating in Smith's boyfriend strangling her. ABC7 reports that Smith's boyfriend lived nearby with his wife and four children, and that he tried to stab himself when police arrived at his house.

“She’s such a nice, humble person. I don’t know why someone would want to hurt her,” a Bedford Electronics customer told CBS2.
