A 9-year-old boy was rushed to Kings County Hospital last night after being shot in the leg while biking through East Flatbush. His family had just moved to the neighborhood the day before, and the boy had been biking down Church Avenue—a block away from his new home—around 8:30 p.m. He then stumbled on a gunfight.
Neighbors say they heard shots from a nearby barber shop just moments before the boy fell to the ground. The man who claimed to be the intended target of the bullet said he saw the gunman approach. "I knew what was going to happen. All of a sudden, shots started firing and I see the little boy go down." The boy reportedly was able to bike the block home, from where he was brought to the hospital. The alleged target said, "I don't know who he is, but it was too late for him to be out riding a bike."
