Yesterday afternoon, an NYPD scuba team recovered the body of a 22-year-old man who went missing earlier this week. The man was identified as Aronno Haque, who was visiting an aunt in Queens.

His friends had posted on Reddit, "Aronno Haque is a student attending Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana from Bangladesh. Aronno was staying with his aunt in NYC and has been missing for around 30-40 hours. All of Aronno's belongings were found in Central Park, including his cellphone and his passport. This is not Aronno's first time in NYC; he is fairly familiar with the city. The NYPD has been informed, and a case has been opened. This is just a PSA for all those NYC redditors to keep an eye peeled for Aronno Haque."

Haque was last seen on Monday, December 30, at 1:30 p.m. near Union Square Park in Manhattan. After his belongings were found near the lake, by West 74th Street, the NYPD scuba team went to search for him on Tuesday, December 31 but they were unsuccessful. They resumed the search today and found his body.

Protyoi Chowdhury wrote on a Facebook page devoted to finding Haque, "The detectives just came to our house and I regret to inform you all that Aronno is no longer with us. He took his life in the lake at Central Park. His body was found today around 3pm. Please pray for his family, he was their only child. Thank you all for your concern and efforts."
