The bodies of two women, fully clothed and bound together by duct tape, were found floating in the Hudson River near the Upper West Side of Manhattan on Wednesday, officials said.
According to an NYPD spokesperson, the bodies were discovered by passersby in the waters off 72nd Street at approximately 3 p.m. The victims were unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Additional information about the victims was not immediately available, though a law enforcement source tells ABC that there were no signs of trauma. A police spokesperson would not elaborate on how exactly the women were bound together.
The Medical Examiner's office will determine the cause of death, and an investigation is ongoing.
We'll update as more information becomes available.
