Officials say the bodies of two jet skiers who went missing off the coast of Sea Gate in Brooklyn on Thursday washed up in Coney Island Creek last night, not far from where the two friends were have believed to have fallen into the water.
Willie Tom, 44, and CiCi Lin, 26, disappeared Thursday night while jet skiing near West 33rd Street and Bayview Avenue. Two off-duty NYPD officers and an off-duty Coast Guard member say they saw Tom jump into the water around 8 p.m. after Lin fell off her ski; they tried to recover the two, but were unable to find them. Two bodies were pulled from the water around noon yesterday, as Fu's and Tom's family members watched nearby. Neither were wearing life-jackets; family members say Fu, the wife of Tom's best friend, couldn't swim. "He was a very experienced jet skier, a very good swimmer — a great swimmer — and I guess there was no way he was coming out without her,” Michael Tom, Tom's brother, told the Daily News.
