The Post reports Mayor Bloomberg "happily" posed in a tree outside City Hall (he didn't climb - he got a ride from a cherry picker) and no "dive-bombing birds" were present. Naturally, there was a security guard was at the base of the tree. The only thing that's missing is a cute City Hall squirrel or rat!

Bloomberg's Time 100 write-up was penned by Robert Kennedy Jr., who applauds the mayor's PlaNYC effort to make the city more livable and sustainable. On a similar note, today Bloomberg said a gas tax break is "about the dumbest thing I've heard in an awful long time, from an economic point of view."

He told reporters, "We're trying to discourage people from driving and we're trying to end our energy dependence ... and we're trying to have more money to build infrastructure," which a gas tax break wouldn't help achieve.
