A little deer that probably never hurt anyone and doesn't deserve to feel pain accidentally ransacked a clothing store after he was hit by a driver on Monday.

The poor thing was on Hylan Boulevard in New Dorp Lane at around 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon when the unidentified driver hit him with their car, according to reports. The deer dashed into nearby In Phase Fashions while the front door was open, then ran panicked through the store for an hour before Animal Control managed to tranquilize him.

Witnesses told reporters that the young male deer was heavily bleeding, and kept crashing into customers, mirrors and merchandise. "The poor guy was really panicked," store owner Mario Cavuoto told the Post. "He was running in circles because he was trapped."

Cavuto called 911, but cops were unable to catch Bambi immediately. "The cops came right away, but they were standing in the door, and the deer had nowhere to go, he was trapped," Cavuto said. Eventually, Animal Control got him out on a stretcher, though by then the store was covered in his blood. "This was a mess," Cavuto said. "I felt so sorry for that deer."

No word yet on the deer's fate, but for the sake of my own mental health I'm going to pretend he's healing nicely.
