A 30-year-old Bedford Stuyvesant man was electrocuted around 3 a.m. this morning after coming in contact with the third rail. According to the NYPD, Matthew Zeno died while walking along the G train trackbed with an unidentified friend somewhere between the Union Avenue and Broadway train station.

The NYPD press office says Zeno "inadvertently made contact with the third rail and was electrocuted." His friend "attempted to render assistance, and in doing so, sustained a less severe electric shock."

Zeno was pronounced DOA at Woodhull Hospital, while his friend is listed in stable condition. Officials say the investigation is ongoing, and a police source tells the Daily News that Zeno "may have been looking for a place to urinate" before he was electrocuted.

Update: The Post goes even further, citing "sources" who says Zeno was electrocuted and killed relieving himself on the third rail. The NYPD press office would not confirm this, saying only that he "came in contact with" the third rail.
