If you're laying out in the sun this summer, getting those pretty cancer lines we all desire, and you start to inexplicably smell delicious BBQ, you bathing suit may in fact be cooking you! A Long Island woman is suing a swimwear manufacturer after the underwire of her bikini top gave her third degree burns.
"After about an hour" of laying out, Robin Corrente tells the Post that she was in intense pain: "[I] went up to shower and I realized…I had a lot of blisters." During a trip to the hospital "doctors had to remove a piece of flesh 'the size of a dime' from her right breast."
The 50-year-old Corrente says the black Coco Reef bathing suit had been sitting in her dresser for awhile, and it was the first time she wore it. She's suing the manufacturer, Swimwear Anywhere, who is not commenting on the case. Now we're definitely not busting out the bikini this year—here's hoping for summer of 2014!
