Police say a 6-month-old infant is dead after her mother allegedly threw her out of the window of their apartment in the Bronx today.

The incident happened just before 1:50 p.m. An NYPD spokesperson says the 27-year-old mother dropped the little girl out of the sixth floor window of their home at 2200 Tiebout Avenue, near 181st Street.

The baby was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. FDNY say that three other children were taken for evaluation at St. Barnabus as well. The mother was taken in custody to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

The News has identified the mother as Tenisha Fearon; sources tell the tabloid that Fearon had a "psychotic episode." Her three other children, aged 10, 8 and 4, were in the apartment at the time, but none were harmed.

This incident comes weeks after a 33-year-old Yonkers woman was charged with murder for allegedly throwing her newborn baby girl out of the window of her boyfriend's 7th floor apartment in the Bronx. In August, a Queens mom was also charged with murder after she allegedly threw her three-week-old baby out the window of her Queens apartment.
