A B62 bus driver struck a cyclist and pedestrian in South Williamsburg last night around 8:15 p.m. Fortunately the two victims are expected to survive; the FDNY press office says they were both transported to Bellevue hospital in stable condition.

But the immediate aftermath of the crash, at Wythe Avenue near Division Street, portended a grislier outcome; a lone bicycle lingered on the blood-stained street in front of the stopped bus, and one witness says he heard the driver say "I had a fatality."

The MTA tells us the incident is under investigation. The NYPD press office did not immediately have any information on the crash, which is not unusual when it comes to non-fatal collisions. We'll update as more information becomes available.
