Police are hunting for a serial rapist who is accused of raping two women and attempting to rape at least one other in Jamaica, Queens. This week, police released chilling surveillance video of the attempted rape, in which the suspect snuck up behind his victim, held a blade to her back, and dragged her into a nearby alley. The attack was thankfully disrupted before it went too far, but the victim spoke to the Post, describing the traumatic experience: “He looked right at me. He looked crazy...I kept saying, ‘Let me go!’ I fought for my life.”

The 22-year-old victim says she first noticed the suspect as she rang a friend's doorbell in Jamaica, Queens: “He was looking at me. When I rang the bell, he noticed that I didn’t go in. But he was acting like he was on his cellphone, saying, ‘Hurry up and come downstairs, n----’.” She now believes that was just an act to put her at ease; the suspect then asked her whether she had keys to get in, and she said no.

As she walked along 109th Avenue toward her sister’s house, she felt him following her: "I knew it was the same guy. I turned around about four times. The last time I looked behind, he hesitated and took a step back. I think he knew that I knew he was following me.”

Right after she texted a friend to say "this doesn't feel right," the suspect grabbed her from behind, as you can see in the video below. “He had his hand over my eyes and one around my mouth. When I turned around and saw who it was, I was frantic. I started crying," she said.

He dragged her into an alley near 154th Street, but local resident Lashanda Vickers heard the victim crying, took out a knife, and confronted the suspect. “I went right to my kitchen and grabbed a big kitchen knife. He was grabbing her...and said, ‘Shut up or I’ll kill you!’ When he saw me standing there, she [got] away from him,” Vickers, a mother of six, said. Vickers started calling 911: “She was like, ‘I don’t know this man, he’s trying to rape me. He got a knife to me,’ and he walked out of the yard. Once he heard 911 was on the phone, he took off running.”

The suspect is accused of grabbing a 20-year-old woman from behind in the area of Merrick Boulevard on Oct. 13 around 3 a.m.—he forced her behind a dumpster and raped her. Then on Nov. 15, at about 1 a.m., the suspect approached a 27-year-old woman in the area of 142nd Street, threatened her with a gun, and raped her. The suspect is described by police as a black male, 25-30 years old, 5-foot-5, and 220 pounds.
