A man facing charges of attempted murder was arrested again after he allegedly stabbed a woman to death in the bathtub of his Brooklyn home this weekend.
Police say that Florida resident Tisha Denise Kelly, 46, was found unconscious and unresponsive with slash wounds to her neck, back and torso inside 649 East 95th Street in East Flatbush around 4:30 p.m. Saturday. She was inside a bathtub with her ankles and wrists tied with bedsheets, but still breathing when cops entered the residence. The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The Times describes the scene when cops arrived: "[Cops] found the man, Daniel Romain, 33, inside the apartment with plastic bags on his hands and his clothes covered in blood, the police said. He fled out the back door of the apartment but was arrested by the officers after a brief foot chase." They add that in the apartment, "the smell of bleach pervaded, an apparent sign of a hasty attempt to clean up traces of the grisly crime."
Romain has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Romain is facing unrelated charges of attempted murder and weapons possession stemming from a shooting outside an East New York house party on April 25th. He was arrested before that for drug sales and attempted robbery.
The Times also reports that yesterday's stabbing "began as an argument between Mr. Romain and Ms. Kelly, who, the police said, had been attempting to leave the apartment before his wife returned home from work."
