Ever since it was revealed Eliot Spitzer was caught planning a rendez-vous with a hooker named Kristen, which eventually led to his resignation, there's been massive curiosity about Kristen--aka Ashley Alexandra Dupre. Last week, it was reported that Diane Sawyer would have the first interview with Dupre, for this Friday's 20/20. And now it seems that Dupre was also interviewed by People for this week's issue.
ABC News released a photograph of Sawyer with Dupre, in advance of this Friday night's interview. In the segment, Dupre will explain how an "upper middle-class, girl next door got into the profession and the psychological journey she continues to experience," in person, while it seems she spills lots of details in print, too.
People's online excerpt mentions how Dupre thought it was surreal to see her client apologizing on TV and that she reasoned prostitution "wasn't any different than going on a date with someone you barely knew and hooking up with them. The only difference is I can pay my rent."
The Post says the 22-year-old Dupre also told People she felt bad for Silda Wall Spitzer, "I try not to revisit that place too often, but when I think about his speech, I think of her face, her eyes, the hurt." And if she could speak to Silda, she'd tell her, "I'm sorry for your pain."
Dupre also discusses how at 17 she fled her mother and stepfather's house in NJ to NC where her father lived, descending into more and more partying. Then she went to Florida, still partying, where she did the Girls Gone Wild videos. The Post reports, "It was about the same time she says she was raped. 'It caused me to disconnect - with sex, with real relationships,' she said." Then she moved back to the NY-area, got into modeling... which then led to hooking.
