Police are searching for a man and his female companion after a verbal dispute in a Bushwick department store devolved into gunfire on Monday evening around 6:20 p.m. According to investigators, the 20-year-old victim got into an argument with the suspect inside the Blue City department store at 452 Knickerbocker Avenue. The exchange of words escalated into a physical altercation, which finally ended with the victim being shot in the torso.

Police say the victim was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he is in stable condition. The suspect and an unidentified woman fled the scene; the NYPD has released security camera footage of the two in hopes the public can help track them down:
