It's advertecture gone wild! Well, it's wild for Fifth Avenue and 59th Street. Macrumors saw an ad being put on the cube at Apple's Fifth Avenue store yesterday.
The semi-transparent ad was for the new iPhone, but it was taken down later. We bet some ritzy neighbors complained and remind Apple about the city's crackdown on street advertising. Or remembered that the city granted Apple permission to build on the plaza if advertising was kept to a minimum (or something like that). A commenter on Macrumors says the ad was simply a "test." A test to see if they could get away with an ad, we think!
