Remember the Mount Sinai urologist who got busted for allegedly taking upskirt video of subway commuters using a video camera disguised as a pen? Dr. Adam W. Levinson was employed as Assistant Professor in the Division of Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Mount Sinai when he was arrested in August after an eagle-eyed former TSA employee spotted him allegedly holding the pen surreptitiously between women's legs. Unlike that "Hipster Upskirt" suspect, Levinson is still being pursued by prosecutors.

Levinson appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday, some seven months after his arrest. A grand jury has yet to be convened in his case, but sources tell the Post "prosecutors are pouring through some two dozen video clips of unsuspecting women recovered in the doctor's pen camera, and have seized computers and other electronics from his posh Washington Street apartment in the West Village in an ongoing search for additional evidence."

Levinson's next court date is May 20th. He did not speak to reporters yesterday, but the tabloid described him as "nervous-looking." In October, Mount Sinai issued a statement saying, "Mt. Sinai has performed a thorough internal investigation and has found absolutely no evidence that Dr. Levinson was videotaping patients at the medical center. Nor has Mt. Sinai received any information from the enforcement agencies suggesting that he was videotaping patients. Mt. Sinai will continue cooperating with the police and with the District Attorney's office in their investigations."

Levinson is no longer employed at the hospital, and no matter what happens his urology career is no doubt irrevocably damaged. As Gothamist's in-house Borscht belt comedian put it, Levinson is living proof that you can really get into a lot of trouble if urine to this sort of thing.
