Jairo Pastoressa, 25, was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday and ordered held without bail for the stabbing death of Christopher Jusko early Monday morning in the East Village. Prosecutors believe Pastoressa and Jusko, 21, were fighting over Jusko's ex-girlfriend, who also lives in the East 7th Street tenement. Pastoressa, a graffiti artist known as Link6 who works with East Village mural painter Antonio "Chico" Garcia, allegedly lured Jusko to his East Village apartment with a false promise they’d "settle it like men."

Pastoressa claims that Jusko had a gun, but prosecutors say he was unarmed and "made no physical actions against the defendant." An eyewitness told investigators, "He sliced [Jusko] in the neck. As the victim turned away, he stabbed him in the back." Jusko was later found lying face down in a pool of blood on the sidewalk. For reasons unexplained by the tabloids, investigators have yet to interview Jusko's ex-girlfriend. An attorney for Pastoressa, whose left hand was bandaged in court, says his client acted in self defense and requested that he be put on suicide watch.
