A fire tore through a Queens apartment this morning, and after firefighters put out the blaze, three bodies were found. Police say they had slash wounds to the neck.

A neighbor called when smoke was spotted coming an apartment door at 143-40 Roosevelt Avenue around 4:50 a.m. The fire was extinguished by 5:30 a.m., and then firefighters found the three bodies in the living room. While the victims appeared to be adults, two males and a female, WABC 7 reports that "the bodies were burned beyond recognition."

The ME's office will determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
