The Giants crashed back to Earth last week. Perhaps that was inevitable, the Giants had played very well in five-straight games. Perhaps it was because they looked past the Cowboys and allowed themselves to be distracted by tonight’s game with the Eagles. Perhaps it was simply a matter of the Cowboys finally living up to their preseason hype.

Whatever the reason, the Giants will have to figure things out while facing the hottest player in football. Michael Vick destroyed Washington last week, scoring six touchdowns as he led the Eagles to a 59-point day. Between Vick, DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy, the Giants will have their hands full on the defensive side of the field.

Another thing the Giants will have to overcome is injuries. At least two starters on the offensive line will miss the game and all-pro receiver Steve Smith has been ruled out. New York also has to hope that former Eagle, Shawn Andrews, is healthy enough to play left tackle.

Add it all up and you have the potential for a slaughter. The Giants come into the game with questions once again swirling over how good they really are while the Eagles have a chance to state their case as the best team in the NFC. Expect New York to hang around in the game, but in the end they will be no match for Philadelphia.
