July has been a cool month. There's only been six warmer than normal days so far this month and the average temperature has been running a little more than two degrees below normal. Today may be the first day in more than a week that we'll have warmer than average temperatures. Mostly sunny skies should produce a high in the mid-80s. It will be cooler near the shore.
Tomorrow will probably be slightly warmer and slightly more humid. According to the Weather Service forecast discussion highs will be in the mid- to upper-80s "outside of a bank thermometer here or there" which may see 90 degrees. Excellent weather to take in a Mets game.
Warm air looks like it will stick around through the weekend. However, the rain situation appears unsettled. A developing low pressure system may bring some rain on Friday, a separate upper level disturbance should kick off a few showers on Saturday, and a slow moving cold front may cause a shower or thunderstorm on Sunday. A bit of a change from the mostly fine weekend weather we've been having all month.
