Subway survivor Scott Heins captured this cozy moment aboard an A train between Franklin and Hoyt-Schermerhorn at roughly 8:50 a.m. today. (Scott Heins / Gothamist)
How is it Monday already? Also, how is Trump still President? Also, where the devil is the A train? These are haunting questions! All we know at this point is that the MTA spread a little extra Monday on this morning's commute, with signal problems at York Street causing an avalanche of delays on the A, F, and G lines
Some F trains have been rerouted on the G from Bergen Street to Court Square, while other F trains were sent along the E line from Court Square to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue. The MTA also reports "extensive delays in both directions" on the A and C lines this morning "following Sandy repair work." And apparently the 1 train isn't going to save you either:
I left the stuck A train to take the 1 train for it to also be stuck. @MTA you've outdone yourself today.

@ydanis @MTA @c_pichardo Major issues on the downtown A train this morning (again) plus elevators still down at 181. pic.twitter.com/k8ZRt82uVE

On the plus side, the subway Wi-Fi is working great!
At least @NYCTSubway has wifi now so I can publicly shame them on Twitter while I wait an hour for a train.

I've spent 30 min on the train so far and only gone 3 stops. A train is where dreams go to die. https://t.co/F8UktDAL2A

@JamieStelter The A train situation is really, really bad. We can't get past 168 because of crowds.

Let's just remember that the A train is just a mental construct. Close your eyes and you can be anywhere.
This Monday morning A train has me thinking about being barefoot in fields that lead to a line of pine-green trees edging a cool muddy river

And it could always be worse... it could be the F train.
I want to live my life like this F train, which has taken 30 minutes to go 5 stops and feels totally unselfconscious about it

@MTA #wtf F train suddenly becomes G train at Bergen Street. Monday morning. 8:15am. Why?! Did anyone tell you that you suck at your job?

In the end, your attitude determines your altitude you guys.
I feel blessed. #GodIsGood Got on the F train on the 2nd try. Typically the 4th. 3rd on a good day. @NYCTSubway @MTA

If you found this commute frustrating, tell your state representatives and Governor Cuomo to stop robbing the MTA of badly needed funding and figure out a way to come up with more cash for a 21st Century transit system.
