A 78-year-old man was killed in Midwood this morning after getting struck by a mini bus. The NYPD says he was crossing at the corner of Ocean Parkway and Kings Highway at about 6:51 a.m. when a small bus traveling eastbound on Kings Highway tried to make a left turn and hit him.
"6:30 this morning, I'm sleeping, and I hear somebody screaming 'Oh my God, Oh my God,'" a witness told NY1. "I come downstairs and there's an old man laying on the floor, bleeding from the side of his face."
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity will be released pending family notification. As usual, the NYPD says there is no criminality suspected at this time, though they are still investigating the incident.
