The NYPD is searching for the suspect responsible for the death of a 61-year-old Harlem woman. At roughly 11:45 p.m. Saturday night officers responded to a 911 call at the corner of West 144th Street and Lenox Avenue, where they find Odessa Simms with a gunshot wound to her neck.

According to police, Simms was found unresponsive and unconscious and rushed to Harlem Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made at this time and an investigation is currently ongoing. ABC reports that Simms, who lived two blocks away, had been outside her home playing dominoes with her husband when she was shot.

Officers told the network that she was not the gunman's intended target, and that additional shots rang out near the scene as officers investigated early Sunday morning. Two men were wounded in that incident, but are expected to survive.
