Six people were shot when a dispute turned violent at a barbecue in a Bronx park around midnight.
Police responded to a 911 call about two people shot inside Franz Sigel Park, near 613 Grand Concourse in the Bronx. They found a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the right knee and a 19-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the right thigh; both were taken to Lincoln Medical Center. The NYPD believes that a dispute occurred and at least one person opened fire.
Upon further investigation, police found that four other injured victims left the scene and went to seek medical attention on their own: A 14-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the foot, a 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his right leg and a 20-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his left calf all went to Lincoln Medical Center while a 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his right arm went to Bronx Lebanon.
All victims are expected to survive.
According to the NYPD, the perpetrator fled on foot and there are no arrests. The police are continuing to investigate.
