As we learned from Mike Birbiglia, sleepwalking can be a real and scary thing. But in case you didn't get the memo, little Aeden Wiggins story should hammer the point home. This morning, to his family's horror, the 5-year-old with a history of sleepwalking simply walked out of his Queens home!
Wiggins mom first noticed something was wrong when she checked in on her son around 5 a.m. and found his bed empty. After searching the house in a presumed panic she called 911, leading the police to quickly start searching for a little boy with a missing front tooth, a white t-shirt and "Sponge Bob Square Pants" boxers.
Luckily, about four hours after his mother noticed he was gone, little Aeden was found on the street just a few blocks from his home. "The kid walked out of the house, he was found several blocks away, he seemed fine," a police spokesman said. "Case closed."
"I’m just happy he’s alive, I just want to give him a big old hug," the boy's 18-year-old sister told the Post after he was found. "I just spoke to her [mom at the hospital] and she’s calm now. "
