An SUV driver ran over a Brooklyn woman early yesterday morning and left her to die in the street. Police say Sidney Ramsarup, 35, was walking near the intersection of Glenwood Road and East 108th Street when the driver of a tan SUV fatally struck her and kept going.

First responders found Ramsarup unconscious shortly before 5:30 a.m.; she was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where she later died. According to the NYPD, she was killed just around the corner from her East New York home, where she reportedly lived with her three children, ages 17, 9 and 7.

Ramsarup's stepfather, Robert Hyman, tells ABC 7 that Ramsarup was on her way to see him when she was killed. "She was a real nice girl. everybody in the neighborhood loved her," Hyman said.

“It’s a tough loss,” one longtime neighbor told 1010 WINS. "Everybody knows her. She was always loud with the laughter and the joking and stuff like that."
